How Raspberry Leaf Tea Helps Your Period
Using Red Raspberry Leaf tea to help your period is a great way to add natural support and nourish yourself! It’s super light and yummy! This can be served either hot or chilled for a comforting or refreshing experience!
In this post you’ll find my personal struggles with my cycle, some back story on oral contraceptives, and how, if you’re struggling like me, to help support your natural flow of things.
Raspberry leaf tea may not guarantee a 28 day pain free cycle but it may help ease the discomforts and support you through your journey. This tea is great to drink especially if you are just starting to have a cycle, coming off contraceptives, pregnant, or are even perimenopausal!

My Cycle
I’ve had an interesting relationship with my cycle. It has never come on time and I used to experience a ton of pain. Actually nerve pain. I could remember being in high school walking down the hallway just needing to stop as sharp hot pain radiates down my lower belly to you know where. It was like a lightning bolt or what I compared it to. I took all the over the counter stuff like my mom did but nothing touched it.
As the years went on in grade school and my body kept cycling the pain only worsened. It ended with me taking a trip to the OBGYN and my mother explaining how sometimes I wouldn’t even be able to participate in gym class. I ended up on the “pill” thinking this was it, the answer to my prayers, the pain will be gone…
Oral Contraceptives Are Not What They Tell You
Despite what I was first told in my teenage years; Birth control pills don’t regulate your cycle! They actually cause your body to stop producing the hormones in your cycle! Our bodies don’t know the difference of the hormone we create ourselves or ones that are found in the medicine. Our bodies register that it has enough of that hormone. When that happens, it stops creating it. So if we take a pill that has hormones in it, our bodies register it and it thinks it has enough. So essentially our bodies stop creating it.
There’s nothing regulating anything if our own bodies aren’t creating it ourselves. It took me years to realize this. My birth control journey is a whole other post and what I experienced coming off of them. I was on contraceptives for over 10 years, and I experienced all the symptoms you could imagine. By the time I neared the 10-year mark I tried over 5 different oral pills and had side effects to all. It made me scared to try anything else and I realized I wanted to ditch them. Which I did and will do a post on that soon.
Natural supplementation can be easily added into your everyday routine to benefit you in the long run!

Using Red Raspberry Leaf Tea
Typically, one to three cups every day you can drink. There is no known toxicity at this point in time with research. However, breaking up your day with a hot or cold cup of tea may feel refreshing if you are sick of drinking the same old drinks!
You can purchase this in the tea aisle at your local grocery store. Or my favorite is to go to the health food store and buy the loose-leaf dried leaves and create my own blend to help support my cycle! If you choose to purchase an already prepared tea blend, ensure it specifically says “Red Raspberry Leaf” I have found some brands of tea have raspberry flavors, but they are not the herbal supplement you are needing. I suggest the brand Traditional Medicinals for buying herbal teas. (No affiliate Marketing, personal recommendation)
Conclusion
I have been drinking Red Raspberry Leaf Tea to support not only my pregnancies but my cycle and do feel it has benefitted me! I can only hope that you also find some ease in symptoms for you too!
