Heal your Womb through Chakra Work
When you think about healing you think about going to the doctor, getting medicine, maybe relaxing and taking days off from work. But have you considered a longer healing practice? Or maybe one this is more spiritual? As a woman our wombs take some heat, literally, physically and emotionally. Many things can shame us whether it’s generational, or physical/emotional traumas. It goes beyond what a pill or diagnosis can do. Being more intentional about your body is getting in tune with it. This post is going to tell you how you can heal your womb through chakra work.
Our bodies are created with just the perfect ingredients, cells, matter, fluid, but there is also an energy system called chakras. There are 7 and are found traveling from the sacrum (where the beginning of the butt crack is) up to the top of our heads. If our energy system is not balanced and in harmony then we are not.
The scientific study of the chakra system is ancient and started back in India in Ayurvedic medicine; its approach is to be natural and holistic to physical, mental, and spiritual health.
Chakras of focus
Root and sacral chakras. When creating this post, I originally wanted to solely focus on the sacral point. However, I realized both the root and sacral encompass our reproductive organs. Many womb healing exercises I have done link these two energy points together. If we heal spiritually, we will also promote physical healing.
Healing the womb, we will be able to not only access grounding but to unlock hidden desires as well as creativity. I find when I work with these areas and become grounded with the Earth is when I find myself the most refreshed, creative, and productive.

Root Chakra, Muladhara
- Color; red
- Location; base of spine
- Montra; I am
- Element; Earth
- Emotional Connection; grounding, safety, life force, Earth connections
- Gemstones; Garnet, Black Tourmaline, Black Obsidian
The root chakra is all about identity; I am and in turn fear is the biggest challenge we can face. Fear of abandonment, not feeling safe or trusted, having family issues, and of course physical traumas or sexual abuse all can impact the root chakra.
To begin to heal our root chakra we must first practice grounding. Walking on the Earth barefoot, or meditating that our ‘roots’ from our feet are traveling deep in the ground are all easy ways to start feeling grounded in our physical and spiritual bodies.
Wearing the gemstones listed above can also promote healing. The energy frequency of these gemstones can help align your body and the chakras energy. You can also meditate with the gemstone in your hand or laying down and putting it on your lower belly where your womb is located.
Begin to feel safe.
When we are safe we are not feeling that fear we can begin to open up and feel life energy force through ourselves.
Try these affirmations when beginning to acknowledge the root chakra
- I am safe and supported
- I am worthy of life and love, whatever universe sends to me
- I am happy and worthy of this life and love.
Wearing the color red or a deep color similar to red will also help honor the root chakra. Humming the C note or listening to healing frequencies can also help open and heal the root chakra. Wearing gemstones like garnet, black obsidian/ tourmaline, or ruby will also help heal the root chakra.
Sacral Chakra, Svadhisthana
- Color: Orange
- Location; Lower belly, hips, reproductive organs, intestines, bladder
- Montra; I feel
- Element; Water
- Emotional connection: pleasure, creativity, sexual desires
- Gemstones; Amber, Sunstone, Orange calcite, Orange Agate, carnelian
The sacral chakra is all about our intimacy, not just sexual but also with ourselves to create and have the flow of inspiration. When our sacral chakra is balanced we will feel in alignment with our natural selves and feel safe to create with inspiration. The sacral chakra is all about us having faith and trusting in ourselves.
Movement
The element to this chakra is water, think about how water moves, flows, and dances around rocks going down a river. Moving our bodies not only helps open this chakra but also brings awareness to what we may be physically struggling with in our bodies. Getting more movement helps us squeeze toxins out of our tissues and allows fresh blood to restore those areas. We build muscle tone, improve nerve connections and enhance our body’s energy!
Pleasure
Allow yourself to experience pleasure. As a woman this can feel taboo, some may even feel guilt and shame! Regardless we are all allowed to have pleasure! Whether it’s physical or emotional, experiencing pleasure opens our creativity and natural flow of our bodies.
Listening to healing frequencies in tones of D or saying the word “Vam” can unblock this chakra.
Say these affirmations to also help align your thought process to your sacral chakra!
- I feel open and flowing within my body’s energies
- I am worthy of experiencing and feeling pleasure
- I feel safe within my body to feel sensuality
- I am allowed to feel pleasure, creativity, and movement.
Wear the color orange. As stated above for the root chakra, try to wear more orange to also embrace the sacral chakra. You can also wear the gemstones listed above or even set an altar in your home where you can sit quietly and meditate focusing on the gemstones to honor this chakra.

Practicing
Practice doesn’t begin until you begin. These are simple routines you could incorporate into your daily life with ease that doesn’t require a ton of time. Bring your focus and attention to these areas of your body’s multiple times a day and you will begin to take notice of what’s going on inside. This is just the beginning of unlocking some of your hidden truths if you are new to these kinds of practices!
There is no wrong way.
You may feel a bit awkward at first. You may even not trust yourself that anything is happening. Stick with it! Give yourself sometime to get used to this spiritual practice and trust that yourself above all else. If you’re looking to see progress, try to journal daily how you’re feeling in your lower body briefly. Discuss physical but also what emotions have been coming up. This is a great way to check in and over time go back and re read your previous entries to find common themes to work on more!
So do what feels good!
